HONORING LEADERS WHO CHANGE LIVES
Maytag celebrates exceptional BGCA mentors for their positive lifetime impact on kids and teens by honoring them with a Maytag Dependable Leader Award and a $20,000 grant to support their local Club.
Award winners include former president Jimmy Carter. To date, Maytag has honored 114 extraordinary leaders who have helped thousands of kids and teens achieve their full potential.
RECIPIENT SPOTLIGHT
Mike Harris received the Maytag Dependable Leadership Award in 2016 and used his grant to help establish the Pathways to Policing program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Seidman Center. The program encourages positive interactions with police and introduces youth to law enforcement careers.
CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF DEPENDABILITY
On Maytag brand’s annual Day of Dependability, Maytag employees from all over the country volunteer at Boys & Girls Clubs in their communities to make an impact through the power of positive leadership.
From serving 200 kids a Thanksgiving meal or just being there to help with homework, over 6,000 team members turn 3 volunteer days into brighter futures at local Clubs. Maytag believes when kids and teens are inspired to dream big by dependable mentors, they can achieve anything.
MAYTAG® FEEL GOOD FRIDGE
According to Feeding America, one in six children experience food insecurity. And Maytag knows dependability starts with ensuring that all Americans have access to their most basic needs, especially nourishing food. That’s why Maytag is working with Boys & Girls Club of America to launch the Feel Good Fridge program giving kids and families a food source they can depend on. The Maytag® Feel Good Fridge is a refrigerator that is stocked with healthy food for Club members and their families to take when in-need.
Maytag kicked off the program in Clubs in Los Angeles, New York, Detroit and Grand Rapids. As of April 2022, Maytag has placed 20 refrigerators, with plans to place another 20 by the end of the year. Each refrigerator comes with a small grant to get the Club started in filling the fridge with nourishing food, and the Clubs will use local relationships and community support to continue to keep the fridges full. Each Maytag® Feel Good Fridge has helped provide healthy food to an estimated 120 Club kids per day. Nationwide, the program helps benefit over 1,500 Club kids per day

IMPACT THAT'S MAKING HEADLINES
August 2021— Ashley Jones, a longtime advocate for Vancouver-area youth and an employee at Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington, was awarded the 2021 Maytag Dependable Leader Award on August 6.
June 2021 —Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Holland employee Justin Caserta was named one of seven Maytag Dependable Leaders in 2021.
May 2020—The Maytag Dependable Leader program honors extraordinary individuals for their commitment to kids and teens.
